Enjoyable as both a custom platform and a toy! Let look at the 12MechatroWeGo D.I.Y.!
This weekend is Design Festa!
We have a sample of the "12MechatroWeGo D.I.Y." that will be sold at the booth on hand so lets take a look at it!
Pure white!
And large at 220mm!
The 12MechatroWeGo D.I.Y that fans have been waiting for
will be sold first to fans at Design Festa before it is made available to the public in June!
Let's take a look at the LED lights built in first!
By using a mini USB cable to connect it to a PC
the lights in the eyes and tail lamps can be lit up!
Button cells (sold seperatly) can also be used to power the lights.
There are other features that we would like to introduce
but we think many fans are interested in customising this white body to make there own color pattern!
Therefore this post will target those fans who plan to custom their MechatroWego as we will explain how to take off the parts.
For those planning to custom there WeGo like the ones in the picture above please use this post as refference when removing the various part from it.
■How to take off outer parts of arms
The outer parts on the forarm and upper arm will come off easily as seen in the picture above.
For the parts on the shoulder it is a bit complicted so we will use pictures to explain.
Hold the section in red and pull outward
you should hear a "click" sound which means the part has seperated from the pin that holds it in place.
At this point the part should come off.
You might notice this when you remove it for the first time
but these plated parts hold the shoulder parts in place.
By pulling the shoulder parts outward these parts change positions slightly allowing you to take the parts off.
Transparent parts on both sides can also be taken off.
Be carefull not to lose these small parts when you take them off!
■How to take off outer parts of the legs
The parts on both sides of the lower legs can be taken off easily as seen in the picture.
Hold the parts shown in the picture and pull them outwards
Note this is just a step in the process to remove a part
Once you have pull them out please push the outer parts to their original position as seen in the picture the dome shaped parts should have slightly bulged outward.
After this bulge is confirmed spin the outer parts in the direction of the arrow which will allow you to take off both the dome shaped part and the outer part.
This is what it will look like when taken off.
Legs can be taken off by simply pulling them out.
The transparent parts on the heel can also be taken off by pulling them out.
■How to take off outer parts from the chest area.
The outer parts are extreamly tight and we recomend that you use a thin item like a cutter knife to take them off.
**Please use extreme caution with the cutter knife not to damage the product.
It will look like this when you line up all the parts that can be taken off. I think this will give you a good idea how many parts are need to make this!
The 12MechatroWego with all the parts taken off will look like this.
This striped down version of the MechatroWeGo has a certain charm to it.
As LED units are inside the head and back parts this is the furthest you can take off parts easily.
Please note while removing other parts not mentioned here are possible it may result in damaging the LED units inside.
That will be all!
Some of the things we have mentioned require a bit of skill and are for fans who have exerience in customising toys
but we hope this article will insipres people who may never have customed a toy to try it with their WeGo!
Package for this is designed to resemble a box for a electrical appliance and will look different from the box design for the 35MechatroWeGo.
