What’s huge, heavy, articulated and lights
up? It's the 12 MechatroWeGo Review
Hi everyone!
Only TWO more days till Wonderfest
2016 (Winter)
So we think it’s time to check out the
prototype of one of the most anticipated items from Wonderfest Summer
(2015)!
"12 MechatroWeGo Aqua"
The large scale MechatroWeGo that fans have
been waiting for will start pre-order on
February 8th!
Let’s take a look at this awesome product
Similar to the smaller 35 MechatroWeGo
released earlier this will be made of Diecast and ABS and will come with extra details and
gimmicks made possible with the added size of this larger version.
Massive and heavy you will notice how heavy
it is when you hold it in your hands
An idea on how heavy this is
One of these add up to 10 pieces of
the 35 MechatroWeGo's!!
We actually put them on the scales to
weight them and this is what we got
Outer parts for this Aqua version will come
fully painted
The color will replicate the light toned
color preferred by the original designer Kobayashi Kazushi.
The mechanical feel of the 35 MechatroWeGo
will be much improved due to the use of transparent parts in the shoulders and
legs
as well as metal plated caps on the outer
frame.
As the name 12 MechatroWeGo suggest scale
for this will be approximately 1/12 and come in large at 8.6inches (220mm).
Put next to the 35 version you can tell how
large it is.
Next to the Tiny WeGo included in the 44WeGo book it looks even larger.
If it’s as small as the tiny version it can
be held inside the hands.
Can be placed on the head and posed
together like in the picture
Size difference makes it look like a parent
and their kid playing with each other
Top of the head unit will open as seen here
The chest will include a slide open gimmick
not seen in the smaller version
The larger scale of the 12 version allow us
to show details of the inner sections like never before!
After the front hatch is opened the cockpit
can be pulled out to the ground!
The toy like design of the control stick
symbolizes the playful side of the MechatroWeGo that we love.
In some cases figures close to the 1/12
scale of the vehicle can be placed on the cockpit.
As an example we have borrowed a 1/12 scale
figma figure from Good Smile Company to show how it looks with a figure in the
cockpit.
The stick will be articulated and can be
held by the figure.
** Note the figma in the figure will not be
included in the product
And yes the chest hatch can be closed with
the figure in the cockpit.
The head of the figure can be seen through
the space opened by the head moving back.
Not all figure will fit but this is
something I recommend everyone try when they get one.
A few of you may have noticed but for the
type we will include 2types of hand parts!
The three finger version seen here ....
As well as the standard two finger version seen
in the 35 version
This is one of the part that has been
improved for the larger version but the articulation has been added to the black
tips of the hands to allow for even further range of motion
Extra points of articulation has also been added to the arm
The forearm can be twisted as seen in the
picture
The joints for the shoulder will allow for full range of motion which will allow for poses such as this that were not possible in the smaller versions
Can even cross its arms
even that famous pose by that anime
character can be recreated!
(Goggle "Iyami Sheeeh!" if you
have no idea what I'm talking about)
The range of motion of the newer version
will be one of the greatest features of this larger version.
Will come with LED's in the eyes that will
light up
**Note picture is an image and may slightly
change for the final product
Tail lamps on the rear will also light up
**Note picture is an image and may slightly
change for the final product
All built in LED's can be powered by button
cells but can also be used by plugging in a USB cord to the rear.
Even without cells you can use the light up
gimmicks.
Large, Heavy, Highly Articulated and even
Lights Up!
This one has it all and more and is sure to
be a product you will love when it arrives.
But that's not all
One of the features of the MechatroWeGo series was that the outer parts could be taken off and exchanged with parts from other same scale WeGo’s.
Rest assured even this feature has been
included in the new 12 MechatroWeGo along for all parts to be taken off as they
like and exchanged with later releases.
Chest parts can be taken off as seen here
Parts on the back will also come off so for
those who enjoy customizing toys
this might work as a good platform for
you.
The 12 MechatroWeGo will be available for
touching in the Sen-Ti-Nel booth at Wonderfest 2016 (Winter).
Come by and check it out if you plan to be
in the building that day.
Pre-Order starts on February 8th!
So it a rare chance to touch a product
before you order it so don't miss this chance.
That’s going to be all for my review of the
12 MechatroWeGo prototype.
